King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a long-term construction traffic pattern will be implemented at night next week on a section of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) under the $99.4 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve travel and safety on a 1.4-mile stretch of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, November 3, through Wednesday, November 5, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic lane closures will be in place on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in both directions from just east of Chelsea Parkway through the Route 452 (Market Street) Interchange to allow crews to complete setup of the new traffic pattern.
By Thursday morning, November 6, U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone. The single lane pattern is expected to remain in place through 2026.
PennDOT’s contractor will then begin Stage 2 reconstruction and widening of the eastbound (south) side of the roadway. Stage 2 construction also includes demolition and construction of the eastbound side of the bridge over Route 452 (Market Street).
Additionally, travel restrictions also will remain in place on Route 452 (Market Street) and Bethel Avenue to accommodate roadway construction.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work areas because significant backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
