King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 in Center City Philadelphia and on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue (Exit 23) and I-676 (Exit 22) interchanges.
- Monday, August 12, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure will be in place on the ramp from northbound I-95 to westbound I-676.
- Tuesday, August 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the I-676 (Exit 22) and Girard Avenue (Exit 23) interchanges.
- Tuesday, August 13, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a left lane closure will be in place on eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between the U.S. 202 and Gulph Mills interchanges.
- Wednesday, August 14, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure will be in place on the ramp from northbound I-95 to westbound I-676.
- Wednesday, August 14, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the I-676 (Exit 22) and Girard Avenue (Exit 23) interchanges.
- Thursday, August 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure will be in place on the ramp from eastbound I-676 to southbound I-95.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
