MEDIA ADVISORY: TOMORROW IN SCHUYLKILL COUNTY – PennDOT, Schuylkill County Municipal Authority, Schuylkill River Greenways and Local Officials to Cut Ribbon on Bowstring Truss Bridge

Tomorrow the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority, the Schuylkill River Greenways, and local officials will hold an event to commemorate the repurposing of the historic Mt. Carbon Bowstring Truss Bridge as a trail bridge.  

The Mt. Carbon Bowstring Truss Bridge was reassembled over Mill Creek and will be used as a pedestrian bridge for the Schuylkill River Greenways Schuylkill River Trail. The 130-year-old Bridge previously traversed the Schuylkill River in Mt. Carbon Borough. It was previously owned by the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority.
