Dunmore, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an in-person plans display regarding Route 4014 (Winterdale Road), Section 651 Culvert Replacement Project over Hiawatha Creek Project in Scott Township, Wayne County. The in-person public display meeting will take place on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Sherman Community Center, 197 Sherman Road, Susquehanna, PA 18847 at 7:00 PM.
The Purpose of this project is to provide a sustainable crossing over Hiawatha Creek that provides a two-lane bridge, addresses hydraulic deficiencies at the site due to the existing structure, and provides continued access to local residents, businesses, and emergency services.
The project consists of replacing the two existing pipe culverts that carry Route 4014 (Winterdale Road) over Hiawatha Creek in Scott Township, Wayne County with a new box culvert. Ther permanent approach roadway work will include a profile adjustment of Route 4014 and tie-ins with the existing roadway at the project limits. The project also includes a profile adjustment of T-766 (Faigle Road) at its intersection with Route 4014. Additionally, guide rail updates, new roadside barriers over the bridge, and new drainage pipes will be installed. There is one aerial utility crossing that requires relocation.
The project is currently in the preliminary design phase. It is anticipated that construction will begin in the spring of 2025 and will be complete by the fall of 2025.
The purpose of the public meeting and virtual plans display is to introduce the project and the associated maintenance and protection of traffic during construction to receive public questions, comments, or other input regarding the project.
The plans will be on display at the Sherman Community Center, 197 Sherman Road, Susquehanna, PA 18847 at 7:00 PM on November 13, 2023, during the in-person public display meeting.
