Dunmore, PA – There will be overnight lane restrictions on both the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 81 along the I-81 corridor in Ashley Borough, Hanover Township and Wilkes-Barre Township in Luzerne County, beginning on Sunday, October 26, 2025, and continuing into November for structural borings.
Lane restrictions will be in place overnight on Interstate 81 on the following nights:
- Interstate 81 northbound and southbound between Exit 159 (Nuangola) and 164 (Nanticoke) from 8:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. nightly from Sunday, October 26, 2025, through Thursday, October 30, 2025.
- Interstate 81 southbound passing lane between Exit 165 (Wilkes-Barre/Mountain Top) and Exit 159 (Nuangola) from 8:00 Pm to 6:00 A.M. nightly from Sunday, October 26, 2025, through Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
- Interstate 81 southbound driving lane between Exit 164 (Nanticoke) and Exit 159 (Nuangola) from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. nightly from Sunday, November 9, 2025, through Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
