Montoursville, PA – Motorists in north central Pennsylvania are advised the following roads in the area (listed by county) are closed or have a lane restriction due to flooding, downed trees or utilities. Updates will be sent periodically.
Northumberland
- (Open) Route 2018 (Brush Valley Road) between Schock Road and Tressler Road in Rockefeller Township, for flooding. A detour using Route 890, Route 61 south, Route 4009 (Black Mill Road), Route 4012 (Snydertown Road / North Eleventh Street), Route 61 north, Route 147 south, is in place.
- (Open) Route 61 (Hamilton Underpass) is closed between Highland Avenue and Green Street in the City of Sunbury, due to flooding. A detour using Route 4009 (Black Mill Road) and Route 4012 (Snydertown Road / North Eleventh Street) is in place.
PennDOT cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.
