9/16/2024 Update: On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the contractor will be performing pavement repairs on South Main Street (Route 2005) between Seventh Street and Dorsett Drive. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging. Motorists should be alert, slow down, proceed with caution, especially through the school zone, watch for students and pedestrians crossing the road, anticipate delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised a two-year construction project continues on Route 6 and Main Street (Route 2005) in Tioga County.
The week of Monday, September 16, 2024, the contractor will continue performing base and joint repairs on North and South Main Street (Route 2005). Additional work will be completed on the sidewalks, ADA ramps and drainage throughout the project area. Work will be performed between the hours of 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, weather permitting. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.
Glenn O. Hawbaker is the prime contractor for this $7.2 million construction project of Route 6 and Main Street. Work on this project includes milling and resurfacing 0.5 miles of Route 6 between the Tioga River and Swan Street in Mansfield Borough and 3.8 miles of Main Street between Decker Street in Richmond Township and East Main Street in Mansfield Borough. Additional work includes drainage improvements, utility relocations, construction of ADA ramps, and rehabilitation and deck preservation of the bridge that carries Route 6 over the Tioga River in Mansfield Borough. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in 2025 and includes a winter shut down.
