Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that Eighth Street (Route 1006) has reopened between Watsontown and Turbotville, Northumberland County following a bridge strike with downed utilities that occurred earlier today.
The utility lines were restored, and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) bridge inspections crews inspected the bridge and deemed it safe to open under temporary channelizing devices controlling traffic. Motorists can expect a lane shift on Eighth Street at the bridge.
Plans for a permanent repair to the bridge will be designed and announced at a future date.
