PennDOT Closing Route 2001 for Box Culvert Replacement

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a start date of Tuesday, August 1, for a box culvert replacement project along Route 2001 (Long Lane) in Derry Township, Mifflin County. Replacing the box, which spans a branch of Jacks Creek approximately one mile north of Maitland, will improve its condition rating from fair to good.

Starting August 1, PennDOT Mifflin County Maintenance will close the box and implement a detour. Traffic will follow Route 522, Route 322, Route 4013 (West Freedom Avenue), Walnut Street, Fourth Street and Dry Valley Road to reconnect with Long Lane.

PennDOT Mifflin County Maintenance will complete all work on this project. It anticipates completing the project by the end of August. All work is weather dependent.

The bridge is 24 feet long and carries an average of 1,304 vehicles daily.
