Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that the traffic pattern at the site of a bridge rehabilitation project impacting two bridges spanning McElhatten Creek along Route 220 in Wayne Township, Clinton County, is set to change on Monday, July 28. This work will improve the ride quality of the bridges, extend their service life, and improve their overall condition ratings.
Starting Monday, crews will begin shifting concrete barriers to reopen the left (passing) lane and close the right (travel) lane in the northbound and southbound lanes. The shift may take two days to complete. PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution while driving through the work zone, obey posted speed limit and work zone signage, and always buckle up. Once complete, this traffic pattern will remain in place for the duration of the project.
Work on this contract includes full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway approach and shoulders, paving, guide rail upgrades, pavement markings, and miscellaneous construction. Rylind Construction of Mount Wolf, PA, is the contractor on this $2 million project. PennDOT anticipates completion in late October. All schedules are weather-dependent.
