PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update -- Week of June 17, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 17, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 917 (North/South Main Street/Pittsburgh Road) in Ellsworth Borough and Somerset Township.
  • Route 1055 (Brownlee Road/Somerset Drive) in Somerset Township.
  • Route 2010 (Lincoln Avenue) in Bentleyville Borough.
  • Route 2017 (Vanceville Road) in Somerset Township.
  • Route 2019 (Donley/Vanceville Road) in Somerset Township.
  • Route 2021 (Caldwell/Pigeon Creek Road) in Somerset Township.

Crack sealing:

  • Route 18 (Burgettstown Florence Road) in Burgettstown Borough, Hanover, Mount Pleasant, and Smith townships. 

Ditch/drain cleaning and repair:

  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township.
  • Route 3019 (Beham Ridge Road) in Donegal Township.

 Mowing:

  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.
  • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington.
  • Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.
  • Route 519 Park and Ride Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township.
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough.

 Patching:

  • Route 1020 (Taylor Run Road) in Carroll Township.
  • Route 3003 (Dry Ridge Road) in Donegal Township.
  • Route 4024 (Taylorstown Ridge Road) in Blaine Township.
  • Route 4057 (Reed Road) in Blaine Township. 

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 2001 (South Main Street Extension) in Amwell Township.
  • Route 2004 (Vankirk Ridge Road) in Amwell Township. 

Side dozing:

  • Route 481 (Old National Pike) in West Pike Run Township. 

Slide repair:

  • Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road) in North Bethlehem Township.
  • Route 2026 (Ridge Road) in Centerville Borough. 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
