Uniontown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Engineering District 12, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), invites the public to participate in a Virtual Plans Display to review and provide feedback on the West Newton Bridge Rehabilitation Project in West Newton Borough, Westmoreland County.
This project will include a complete deck replacement as well as replacement and/or repair work on the trusses, sidewalk supports, and substructure. The project will reconstruct and modernize the bridge to meet the safety and mobility needs of the growing region and restore this historic bridge to a state of good repair.
The purpose of this Virtual Plans Display is to provide information on the West Newton Bridge Rehabilitation Project covering the improvements, impacts, traffic control, and anticipated schedule.
To participate in the Virtual Plans Display visit PennDOT’s District 12 website under the Projects Near You and select West Newton Bridge Rehabilitation Project. The materials will be on the website for the duration of the project. The public comment period is February 19 through March 5.
