Virtual Plans Display Announced for Resurfacing Project in Fayette and Greene counties

Project materials and a comment form are now available online

Uniontown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Engineering District 12 invites the public to participate in a Virtual Plans Display to review and provide feedback on the Fayette and Greene Resurfacing Project in Wharton Township in Fayette County and Monongahela Township in Greene County.

This project will consist of milling, paving, base repair, installation of signs, pavement markings, guide rail, and minor drainage/washout repairs. Additionally, the Flashing Warning Device at the intersection of Route 88 and Route 2016 will be replaced. Work will be completed at the following locations:

  • Route 40 (National Pike) in Fayette County from Fayette Springs Rd. to Fort Necessity.
  • Route 2016 (Mapletown Rd.) in Greene County from Route 88 Intersection to the bridge over Whiteley Creek.

Work will be completed using single-lane closures with flaggers. 

The purpose of this Virtual Plans Display is to provide information on the Fayette and Greene Resurfacing Project covering the improvements, impacts, traffic control, and anticipated schedule.

To participate in the Virtual Plans Display visit PennDOT’s District 12 website under the Projects Near You and select Fayette and Greene Resurfacing Project. The materials will be on the website for the duration of the project. The public comment period is June 5 through June 19.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
