Virtual Plans Display Announced for 2026 Expansion Dam Preservation Project in Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties

Project materials and a comment form are now available online

Uniontown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Engineering District 12, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), invites the public to participate in a Virtual Plans Display to review and provide feedback on the 2026 Expansion Dam Preservation Project in Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

This project involves construction activities that are vital to extending the life of the bridges at four separate locations across District 12. Construction activities include the installation of new bridge deck seals and bringing guiderail and drainage up to current standards. This construction will take place during short-term single lane closures. Work at each site is expected to take two to three weeks. Lane closures will not be present the entire duration.

The purpose of this Virtual Plans Display is to provide information on the 2026 Expansion Dam Preservation Project covering the improvements, impacts, traffic control, and anticipated schedule.

To participate in the Virtual Plans Display visit PennDOT’s District 12 website under the Projects Near You and select 2026 Expansion Dam Preservation Project. The materials will be on the website for the duration of the project. The public comment period is March 12 through March 26.
