Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Greene County Maintenance Manager Tom Younkin has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 6. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Bridge cleaning/flushing:
· Interstate 79 in Franklin Township
· Route 21 in Cumberland Township
· Routes 88 in Monongahela and Cumberland townships
· Various routes in Greene County
Pipe flushing:
· Route 18 in Center Township
Inlet cleaning:
· Various routes in Greene County
Patching/spray patching:
· Various routes in Greene County
Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.
PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.
Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
