Outbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lanes to Close Monday, Tuesday nights in Allegheny County

REMINDER: Closure tonight.

 

Closures necessary for work zone safety for Jacks Run Bridge project.

Pittsburgh, PA –The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing closures of the outbound I-279 and I-579 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in the City of Pittsburgh and Ross Township, Allegheny County will continue Monday and Tuesday nights, August 24-25 weather permitting.

To ensure work zone safety at the Jacks Run Road Bridge, the HOV lanes will close to traffic in the outbound (northbound) direction according to the following schedule:

Monday and Tuesday nights, August 24-25

  • Each night from 8:00 PM until the directional switch is made for the morning rush hour

The HOV lanes will return to normal operations outside of the closures listed above.

As a reminder, the HOV lanes will close to traffic in the outbound (northbound) direction Friday night, August 21, approximately two hours after the end of the Pittsburgh Steelers game until 10:00 AM Saturday morning, August 22.
