    Interstate 79 Overhead Sign Inspections Next Week in Allegheny County

    January 15, 2026

    Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing sign inspection work in various locations along I-79 in Allegheny County will occur Tuesday and Wednesday, January 20-21 weather permitting.

    Single-lane restrictions and traffic shifts will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day according to the following schedule:

    Tuesday, January 20

    • Northbound I-79 between the Warrendale (Exit 75) and Youngstown OH/Harrisburg/I-76 Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 77) interchanges

    Wednesday, January 21

    • Northbound I-79 between the Carnegie (Exit 57) and I-376 Airport/Pittsburgh (Exit 59 A/B) interchanges
    • Southbound I-79 at the I-79/I-279 split

    Crews from A&A Consultants, Inc. and Sofis Company, Inc. will conduct this inspection work.

    Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
