Route 50 Washington Pike Lane Restrictions Continue Next Week in Collier Township

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing single-lane restrictions on Washington Pike (Route 50) in Collier Township, Allegheny County will continue Monday, November 3 weather permitting.

Single-lane restrictions will occur weekdays through late November, as needed, in both directions of Route 50 between the I-79 interchange and Mayer Street according to the following schedule:

  • 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM

The restrictions above will be in place to allow crews to conduct signage installation, side road adjustment work, and miscellaneous punch list items.

Work on this $5.61 million widening project began in November 2022 and included roadway widening to accommodate exclusive left turn lanes at the Washington Pike (Route 50) intersection with Vanadium Road. Additionally, the Washington Pike and Vanadium Road intersection was redesigned to a standard plus intersection, eliminating the dual driveways at Eat’n Park and the former Peter’s Place. Other work includes new sidewalks, updated ADA curb ramps, traffic signal upgrades, signing and pavement marking updates, drainage guide rail work, and other miscellaneous construction.
