Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists to upcoming lane changes, lane painting, milling, and paving along Oakland Avenue (State Route 286) in White Township, Indiana County.
Tomorrow, May 17, motorists should be alert to lane changes at the intersection of Indian Springs Road and Oakland Avenue 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Signal heads will be moved and traffic lanes painted and changed in preparation for upcoming milling and paving at the intersection.
On May 22, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, crews will be milling and paving at the intersection of Indian Springs Road and Oakland Avenue.
Motorists should expect lane closures and flaggers to direct traffic on both days.
Work is weather dependent. Motorists should be alert for slowed traffic in this area and may experience delays.
The work is part of the $19.83 million State Route 286/U.S. Route 422 widening and resurfacing project which includes the widening of State Route 286 and the U.S. Route 422 interchange, replacement of the bridge over McCarthy Run, and the installation of sidewalks along State Route 286. Other work includes drainage and guide rail upgrades and traffic signal replacements.
The project is estimated to be completed in December 2023.
