Pedestrian Ramp Work to Begin April 6 in Apollo

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is alerting motorists to pedestrian ramp work on Kiski Avenue (Route 2048) in Apollo Borough, Armstrong County.

The removal and replacement of pedestrian Americans with Disability Act (ADA) ramps will take place April 6 through the end of May along Kiski Avenue between the intersections of South Second Street and Fourth Street.

Lane restrictions will be in place with flagging. Work will be performed during daylight hours. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers.  Motorists should use caution and expect delays.

This ongoing work is in conjunction with the paving project that occurred in summer 2025. Work is weather dependent.

Derry Construction Co., Inc., of Latrobe is completing this $8.1 million project which includes multiple paving projects, and it is all anticipated to be complete in Spring 2026.
