Signal Upgrades on the Route 68/Route 356 Corridor in the City of Butler

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a signal upgrade project along the Route 68/Route 356 corridor in Butler City, Butler County.

Signals and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps will be upgraded along Route 68 between the intersections of Hansen Avenue and Monroe Street. Work will begin October 12 at 7:00 PM and continue through the end of the year as needed. Work is scheduled to occur at night, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, to lessen the impact on traffic and is dependent on weather.

This is part of a safety improvement project that includes signal upgrades to improve timing and reduce congestion and emissions at stopped signals and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps. 

Contractor, M and B Services, LLC of Clarion, PA will be completing this $3.87 million project anticipated to be complete in December 2026.
