Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing the replacement of the Cortez Bridge in McCalmount Township, Jefferson County.
June 10 through August 25, 2024, Anita-Knoxdale Road (Route 2023) will be closed between the Anita-Oliveburg Road (Route 3016) and Shale Pit Road for the replacement of the Cortez Bridge. A detour will be in place for 77 days.
To detour from the intersection of Anita-Oliveburg Road (Route 3016) with Anita-Knoxdale Road (Route 2023) motorists will travel south for 8/10 miles, turn left onto Route 310 and travel north for 3.5 miles. Turn left onto Panic-Knoxdale Road (Route 2008) and travel northwest for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Anita-Knoxdale Road (Route 2023) and travel south for 2.4 miles to Shale Pit Road. This route brings motorists from the southern side to the northern side of the closure.
The $715,603 project is estimated to be completed by the end of August 2024 by contractor, Thomas Construction, Inc. of Grove City, PA.
