Paving Project to Start Next Week in Warren County

A $3.9 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on approximately 6 miles of roadway in the Borough of Youngsville and Pittsfield and Brokenstraw townships, Warren County is scheduled to start soon.

Roads to be improved include:

  • Route 6 – from Old Pittsfield Road to Railroad Street in Pittsfield and Brokenstraw townships; 2.13 miles;

  • Route 27 – from Route 6 to Matthews Run in Youngsville Borough and Brokenstraw Township; 1.17 miles; and

  • National Forge Road (East Main Street/Route 3022) – from the Youngsville Borough line to Route 62 in Brokenstraw township; 2.79 miles.

Work will include widening on National Forge Road (Route 3022), base repairs, milling and paving, along with curb ramps, drainage improvements, guiderail updates, and pavement markings.

Construction is expected to begin Tuesday, June 20, 2023, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed in December 2023.

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.

Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

The contractor is IA Construction Corporation, of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $3,984,778, which is to be paid using both state and federal funding.
