Left-Turn Lanes Proposed at Budd Street
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to view the plans for a project to improve Route 62 from Liberty Street to the Ohio state line in the City of Sharon, Mercer County.
The proposed Route 62 Improvement Project includes reconfiguring the roadway to create protected left-turn lanes on Route 62 at the Budd Street intersection and maintain one lane of traffic in each direction to northeast of Budd Street. The plan also includes minor widening of the right-turn ramps on Budd Street.
Additionally, the plan includes milling and paving from Liberty Street to the Ohio state line and a short section of S. Irvine Avenue, as well as upgrades to the traffic signal hardware and phasing, sidewalk, drainage, guide rail, signs, and roadway paint and markers.
A detour for large trucks turning right from Budd Street to Route 62 will be required for approximately one month in mid-spring. The proposed detour uses Route 718 (Dock Street) and Route 62.
Work is expected to occur during the 2027 construction season.
