The new bridge that carries Route 20 over Twenty Mile Creek in North East Township in Erie County is opened. In connection with reopening of the bridge, the intersection of Gulf Road and Route 20 is also reopened.
The Route 20 Bridge is located between the intersection with Gulf Road and the intersection with Gay Road.
The bridge was closed to traffic in February 2024 following a design analysis of the structure. Design work was accelerated and construction on the project started later that year.
The contractor is Mekis Construction of Fenelton, PA. The contract cost is $9,614,010, which is to be paid with a combination of federal and state funds.
