Intersection Improvement Project to Begin at E. Market Street and Harrison Street in City of York and Spring Garden Township, York County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an intersection improvement project is scheduled to begin at E. Market Street (Route 462) and Harrison Street in the City of York and Spring Garden Township, York County.

Weather permitting, work at this intersection will begin Monday, March 10. Work will be performed weekdays during daylight hours with lane restrictions and short-term flagging as needed from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This project includes signal upgrades and the construction of a crosswalk and traffic island on the east side of the intersection. Work also includes updating curb ramps, new pavement markings and milling and paving sections of each leg of intersection. 

Kinsley Construction, LLC, of York is the contractor on this $775,711 project. Work is expected to be completed by October 30, 2025.
