Bridge Rehab Project to Begin on Route 116 in York County

Work will be performed in phases with traffic shifts

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge rehabilitation project is set to begin next week on Route 116 in York County. The bridge is located between Jefferson Road and Lehman Road in North Codorus Township.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, July 17. This project will be completed in phases with long-term lane shifts for traffic control. Traffic will be maintained in each direction during this project. The first traffic shift, to the south side of the road, is tentatively scheduled to occur the night of Sunday, July 23.

This project consists of superstructure replacement, guide rail updates, new pavement markings, seeding, and other miscellaneous construction.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

Kinsley Construction, Inc., of York, PA, is the contractor on this $1,884,000 project. All work is expected to be completed by May 29, 2025.
