Erosion and Sediment Work Scheduled at Centerville Road Interchange in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that erosion and sediment (E&S) work is planned for this Sunday night at the Centerville Road Interchange in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 8:00 PM Sunday, June 28, to 6:00 AM Monday, June 29, adjacent to the westbound Route 30 acceleration lane/ramp from Centerville Road.

The ramp will remain open, but drivers will be required to stop at the end of the ramp before proceeding on to westbound Route 30.

Work includes performing maintenance on a drainage ditch adjacent to the highway. This work is expected to be completed in one night, weather permitting.

Travelers are advised to use caution when driving through this area.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.

The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project.
