Roadway Improvements Planned July 22-26 on Chestnut Street Ramp to I-95 North in the City of Chester, Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway improvements will begin on Monday, July 22, on the ramp from Chestnut Street to northbound Interstate 95 in the City of Chester, Delaware County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

  • Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the ramp from Chestnut Street to northbound I-95 will be closed and detoured. 
  • Tuesday, July 23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the ramp from Chestnut Street to northbound I-95 will be closed and detoured. ​

During the closure, passenger vehicles will be directed to use 12th Street, Route 320, 9th Street, U.S. 13 (Morton Avenue/Chester Pike) and Stewart Avenue to access the ramp to northbound I-95. 

Truck traffic will be directed to use 12th Street, Route 320, 9th Street, U.S. 13 (Morton Avenue/Chester Pike), Fairview Road, MacDade Boulevard and southbound I-476 to access northbound I-95. Detour signs will be posted for both alternate routes.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
