Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the region.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, October 9, through Friday, October 13, a periodic lane closure is scheduled on Allegheny Avenue between Ridge Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611) for prepping operations.

Bucks County

  • Monday, October 9, through late October, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Minsi Trail between Blooming Glen Road and Route 313 (Dublin Pike) in Hilltown Township for milling and paving.

Chester County

  • Sunday, October 8, through Thursday, October 12, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships for milling, base repair, and paving;
  • Monday, October 9, through Friday, October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Morehall Road) between U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Flat Road/Atwater Road in East Whiteland and Charlestown townships for sealing operations; and
  • Wednesday, October 11, through Friday, October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Gulph Road between County Line Road and Worthington Road in Tredyffrin Township for milling and paving.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, October 8, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Monday, October 9, through Friday October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lawrence Road between Eagle Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Haverford Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Sunday, October 8, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM and Monday, October 9, through Friday October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Springlawn Road between Cheyney Road and Glen Mills Road in Concord and Thornbury townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Sunday, October 8, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM and Monday, October 9, through Friday October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Cheyney Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Creek Road in Thornbury and Concord townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Wednesday, October 11, through Friday, October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thornton Road between Glen Mills Road and Cheyney Road in Thornbury Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments; and
  • Wednesday, October 11, through Friday, October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thornton Road between Concord Road and Glen Mills Road in Thornbury and Concord townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, October 8, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Monday, October 9, through Friday, October 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lewis Road between Linfield Trappe Road and Main Street in Royersford and Limerick townships for milling and paving;
  • Monday, October 9, through Friday, October 13, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Yerger Road between Neiffer Road and Gerloff Road in Lower Frederick Township for milling and paving; and
  • Sunday, October 15, through Thursday, October 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Berks Road/Potshop Road between Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Township Line Road in Worcester Township and Burnside Avenue between the East Norriton Township line and Main Street in West Norriton Township milling and base repair.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This work is part of several resurfacing projects underway across the Philadelphia region totaling $134 million. Under these projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
