King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled next week on Interstate 76 in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, September 23, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) and the South Street interchanges in Philadelphia.
- Tuesday, September 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure from the Walnut Street on-ramp to eastbound I-76 in Philadelphia.
- Wednesday, September 25, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, moving alternating lane closures are scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the King of Prussia and the Route 320/Gulph Mills interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County.
- Wednesday, September 25, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, moving left lane closures are scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the Route 320/Gulph Mills and the I-476 interchanges in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships, and West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County.
- Thursday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Gladwyne and the Route 23/Conshohocken interchanges in Lower Merion Township and West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County.
- Thursday, September 26, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Route 320/Gulph Mills and the King of Prussia interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
