Bridge Inspections Scheduled on I-76, I-95, Several Other State Highways in Philadelphia, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled on Interstate I-76, I-95, and several other state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, March 18, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the I-76 and the Wissahickon Avenue interchanges.
  • Monday, March 18, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Fox Street and Ridge Avenue/Kelly Drive interchanges.
  • Tuesday, March 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Ninth Street and Fox Street interchanges.
  • Tuesday, March 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the northbound US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) and Montgomery Drive interchanges.
  • Tuesday, March 19, from 12:00 PM, to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Montgomery Drive and the northbound US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) interchanges
  • Tuesday, March 19, from 11:00 PM to 1:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the I-76 Interchange and Broad Street interchanges.
  • Wednesday, March 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures at the eastbound I-76 ramp to northbound US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway).
  • Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 at the US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Interchange
  • Wednesday, March 20, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 at the US 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Interchange.
  • Thursday, March 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on 34th Street between Tasker Street and Wharton Street.
  • Friday, March 22, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 West between the I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) and the 30th Street interchanges.
  • Friday, March 22, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the University Avenue and the Passyunk Avenue interchanges.
  • Friday, March 22, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the University Avenue and the South Street interchanges.

Montgomery County

  • Tuesday, March 19, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-76 between the Gulph Mills and the King of Prussia interchanges in Upper Merion Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
