The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect minor delays for a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 22 eastbound from the Cambria County Line (Gallitzin Exit) to Route 764 in Allegheny Township, Blair County, beginning Monday, March 31.
The 6.8-mile, $4,278,125.00 project, being completed by contractor HRI, Inc., of State College, Pa., includes bituminous paving, guide rail upgrades, drainage replacement, line markings, pipe/inlet cleaning, flushing, substructure repairs, painting, and other miscellaneous construction, with an anticipated completion date of September 2025.
Short-term lane closures will be used as needed throughout the construction season to control traffic. The contractor will also set-up short-term lane closures on the section of Route 764 running under U.S. 22 to perform substructure repairs.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
