Construction Activities Scheduled on I-95, I-76, and Other State Highways in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are scheduled on Interstate 95, Interstate 76, and other state highways in Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

The work schedules and locations are:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic right lane closure is scheduled on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the Enterprise Avenue and the Broad Street interchanges for bridge inspection;
  • Wednesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 27, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Route 291/Cargo City and the Route 420 interchanges in Delaware County and Philadelphia for guiderail installation;
  • Wednesday, July 26, and Thursday, July 27, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the I-676 and the Market Street interchanges for guiderail installation; and
  • Monday, July 31, through Friday, August 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic left lane closure is scheduled on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the Enterprise Avenue and the Broad Street interchanges for bridge inspection.

Chester County

  • Monday July 24, through mid-August, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Charlestown Road between Swiss Lane and Pickering Dam Road in Charlestown Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday July 24, through mid-August, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Borough Line Road and Crestview Drive in Highland Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday July 24, through late August, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Ridge Road between Bethel Road and Fulmer Road in East Coventry Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday July 24, through late August, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Whiteford Road between Longwood Drive and Wrights Lane in Uwchlan and West Whiteland townships for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Wednesday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Charlestown Road) between Whitehorse Road and Yellow Springs Road in Charlestown Township for Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge inspection.

Delaware County

  • Monday, July 24, through Wednesday, July 26, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 476 between the Media/Swarthmore and the I-95 interchanges in Marple Township, Springfield, Nether Providence, and Ridley townships for guiderail installation.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, July 24, through Friday July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Hanover Street at the Chestnut Street Intersection in Pottstown Borough for ADA ramp installation;
  • Monday, July 24, through Friday July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Hanover Street at the Walnut Street Intersection in Pottstown Borough for ADA ramp installation;
  • Monday, July 24, through Friday July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Allentown Road between Reinert Road and Thorndale Drive in Towamencin Township for curb work;
  • Wednesday, July 26, and Thursday, July 27, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the City Avenue and Belmont Avenue interchanges in Lower Merion Township for guiderail installation;
  • Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Park Avenue between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Pennypacker Road in Perkiomen Township and Schwenksville Borough for bridge inspection;
  • Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Stenton Avenue between Militia Hill Road and Butler Pike in Whitemarsh Township for Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge inspection; and
  • Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Butler Pike between Campus Drive and Dickenson Lane in Plymouth Meeting and Whitemarsh townships for Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
