PennDOT's Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager David M. Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 23, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repairs:

  • Route 31 (Summit Road) in Donegal Township.

Bridge repairs:

  • Route 3010 (Wyano/Waltz Mill Roads) Huntingdon Township. 

Brushing:

  • Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Ligonier Township.
  • Route 31 (Summit Road) in Donegal Township. 

Crack and joint sealing:

  • Route 66 in Washington Township. 

Inlet repair:

  • Route 1022 (Latrobe-Crabtree Road) in Unity Township
  • Route 4027 (Paintertown Road) in Penn Township 

Patching:

  • Route 4046 (Waters Road) in Lower Burrell Township. 

Picking litter and tires:

  • Route 70 (Interstate 70) in Rostraver Township.
  • Route 119 in East Huntingdon Township. 

Pipe installation:

  • Route 4054 (La Belle Vue Drive) in Allegheny Township. 

Shoulder adjustments:

  • Route 982 in Pleasant Unity Township.
  • Route 2027 in Pleasant Unity Township.
  • Route 1034 in Salem Township. 

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 3081 (Catalina Farm Road) in East Huntingdon Township.
  • Route 4027 (Paintertown Road) in Penn Township. 

Side dozing:

  • Route 217 in Derry Township. 

Sign replacement/review detours:

  • Various routes. 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1.800.FIX ROAD (1.800.349.7623).
