Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a rolling closure and short-term traffic stoppages on northbound Interstate 79 in Ohio Township and Sewickley Hills and Franklin Park boroughs, Allegheny County will occur Thursday, September 26 weather permitting.
There will be a rolling closure of all lanes and shoulders with short-term traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less on northbound I-79 between the Mt. Nebo Road (Exit 68) interchange and I-279 (Parkway North) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to allow crews to conduct inspection activities.
The work is part of the $26.49 million I-79 improvement project. Improvements include four bridge deck replacements, one bridge preservation, milling and resurfacing, preservation work on seven sign structures, installation of five new ITS signs, guide rail improvements, signage updates, and pavement marking installation.
The prime contractor is the Joseph B. Fay Company.
