Eastbound Route 2048 William Penn Highway Lane Restrictions Next Week in Allegheny County

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing eastbound lane restrictions on Route 2048 (William Penn Highway/Business 22) in the Municipality of Monroeville, Allegheny County will occur Monday through Saturday, April 15-20 weather permitting.

Business 22 will be reduced to a single lane of traffic in the eastbound direction between Northern Pike and Mosside Boulevard beginning at 7 a.m. Monday continuously through 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20.  Access to all businesses will be maintained.

Crews will conduct excavation, inlet placements, curb installation, concrete work, and paving operations.

Work on this $23.84 million William Penn Highway (Business Route 22) preservation and rehabilitation project began in 2023 in Wilkins Township, Churchill Borough, and the Municipality of Monroeville between Huntingdon Drive and Mosside Boulevard. While crews conduct milling and resurfacing, base repairs, curbing, sidewalk, drainage, guide rail, signing, and pavement markings, motorists can expect single-lane closures. Additionally, a full closure of the ramp to Monroeville Mall and detour is anticipated for rehabilitation work. Overall work will conclude in the fall of 2024.

Please use caution in the area.

Crews from Golden Triangle Construction will conduct the work.
