Bridge Preservation Work Continues Next Week on Route 414 in Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised a bridge preservation work is set to begin next week on the bridge carrying Route 44 over Pine Creek in Cummings Township and the bridge carrying Route 414 over Cedar Run in Brown Township, Lycoming County. These projects are part of a county-wide bridge preservation project that includes 12 bridges throughout the county.

Route 44

The week of Monday, May 12, survey crews will be working in the area of the bridge. The bridge over Pine Creek, located approximately 0.8 mile south of Route 414. There should be minimal to no impact to traffic. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution where survey work is taking place.

Work on the bridge project bridge deck repairs, application of a waterproof layer using an elastomer membrane, paving, and line painting. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions during daylight hours. Work on the bridge is anticipated to be completed in the summer 2025, weather permitting.

Route 414

The week of Monday, May 12, 2025, the contractor, will continue work on the bridge over Cedar Run, located approximately 1.5 miles northeast of Gamble Run Road. Work on the project includes bridge deck repairs, application of a waterproof layer using an elastomer membrane, paving, and line painting. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions during daylight hours. Work on the bridge is anticipated to be completed by Friday, May 16, 2025, weather permitting.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $1.6 million bridge preservation project, which includes work on 12 bridges in Lycoming County. Work on the project includes deck repairs, waterproofing, paving, and line painting. Bridges included in this preservation project are Route 44 over Pine Creek in Cummings Township, Route 414 over Cedar Run in Brown Township, Route 284 over Blockhouse Creek in Pine Township, Route 2011 (Exchange Rd) over Laurel Run in Moreland Township, Route 2015 (Funston Rd) over Little Muncy Creek in Franklin Township, Route 2028 (Quaker State Rd) over East Mill Creek in Fairfield Township, Route 2031 (Lick Run Rd/ Palmer Hill Rd) in Loyalsock Twp over Mill Creek, Route 2077 (Beaver Run Rd) Little Muncy Creek in Franklin Township, Route 3004 (Jacks Hollow Rd) over Mosquito Creek in Armstrong Township, Route 3013 (Quenshukeny Rd) over Quenshukeny Creek in Woodward Township, Route 3018 (First Fork Rd) over First Fork in Mifflin Township, and Route 4007 (Covered Bridge Rd) over Blockhouse Creek in Jackson Township. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed by late summer 2025, weather permitting.
