Signal Upgrades on the Route 68/Route 356 Corridor in the City of Butler

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing that the signal upgrade project along the Route 68/Route 356 corridor in Butler City, Butler County will resume on March 30.

Work began in 2025 to upgrade signals and install Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps along Route 68 between the intersections of Hansen Avenue and Monroe Street. Crews will be starting work on March 30 and continuing through December to finish upgrades and installations.

There will be single lane restrictions as needed from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Drivers may experience delays and should use caution through the corridor.

This is part of a safety improvement project that includes signal upgrades to improve timing and reduce congestion and emissions at stopped signals and the installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps.

Contractor, M and B Services, LLC of Clarion, PA will be completing this $3.87 million project anticipated to be completed in December 2026.
