A $1.6 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 7 miles of Polk Cutoff and Valley Road in Polk Borough and Sandycreek and Frenchcreek townships, Venango County is scheduled to start next week.
The project includes milling, asphalt paving, and guide rail upgrades on 7.33 miles of Polk Cutoff and Valley Road (Route 3024) from the intersection with Route 8 to the intersection with Raymilton Road (Route 3017).
Construction is expected to begin July 13, 2026, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by September 2026.
Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.
The contractor is Shields Asphalt Paving of Valencia, PA. The contract cost is $1,616,375, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
PennDOT urges drivers to slow down when driving in work zones, and be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
