The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of the potential for short-term delays from lane restrictions on U.S. 22 between the Gallitzin Exit at the Cambria County line and the U.S. 22 East / Route 764 North Exit at Cross Keys in Allegheny Township, Blair County, on Friday, February 27, 2026.
The contractor will be installing overhead signs with temporary lane closures alternating between the passing lane and the travel lane on U.S. 22.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Drivers should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
The work is among the final steps of a 6.8-mile, $4,278,125.00 project being completed by contractor HRI, Inc., of State College, Pa., which included bituminous paving, guide rail upgrades, drainage replacement, line markings, pipe/inlet cleaning, flushing, substructure repairs, painting, and other miscellaneous construction.
