PennDOT Invites Public to View Online Plans Display for West Juniata Parkway (Route 1015) Bridge Replacement Project over Cocolamus Creek in Greenwood Township, Perry County

Information will be available to view online from June 8 until July 10.

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today invites the public to view an online plans display for the West Juniata Parkway (SR 1015-009) bridge replacement project over Cocolamus Creek in Greenwood Township, Perry County. The structure is approximately 0.5 miles south of Route 22/322 and 4.5 miles north of Newport Borough.

The purpose of this project is the replacement of the existing structure that carries West Juniata Parkway over Cocolamus Creek. Work associated with the project will consist of roadway approach paving, guiderail improvements, new pavement markings, and signage upgrades.

West Juniata Parkway will be closed to traffic between Red Hill Road and the Route 22/322 Millerstown Interchange except for local traffic. A detour will be in place during construction. Access to all driveways within the project limits will be maintained during construction.

The project is currently in design, and construction work is expected to take place in the 2028 construction season. A plans display will be held online only. A digital version of the information will be available to view online from June 8 until July 10 of 2026.

Information, including roadway and bridge plans and an interactive comment form, can be found by visiting the PennDOT District 8 website, www.penndot.gov/District8, clicking on Public Meetings listed under the Resources heading, and choosing the Perry County box then the tile marked Juniata Parkway Over Cocolamus Creek Bridge Replacement.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project. It is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

The project documents can be made available in alternative languages or formats if requested.
