Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an intersection safety improvement project on Route 124 (East Prospect Road) in Windsor Township, York County, is set to begin next week.
Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, April 20. Initial work will consist of placing compost filter sock, selective tree removal, clearing and grubbing. Work will be performed during daylight hours under flagging.
Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This work is part of a safety improvement project that consists of phased construction of a new traffic signal and realignment at the intersection of Route 124 and Freysville Road (Route 2001), and other related construction activities.
York Excavating Company, of Yorkana, PA, is the contractor for this $2,286,571 project. All work is expected to be completed by November 15, 2028.
