Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today a 5.9-mile pavement preservation project on Route 233 in Perry County is scheduled to begin this week. This project extends from the Cumberland County line to Landisburg Borough.
Weather permitting, work will begin Thursday, April 9. There will be lane restrictions on Route 233 with flagging during daylight hours.
This project consists of roadway resurfacing, guiderail updates, drainage improvements, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 233 in Southwest Madison and Tyrone townships.
There will be nine weekend closures/detours for cross pipe replacements. Updated press releases will be issued prior to each closure.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
Glenn O. Hawbaker., Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor on this $4,998,000 project.
All work is expected to be completed by May 19, 2027.
