Nighttime Pavement Work Continues for Resurfacing Project on Route 30 in Hellam Township, York County

Expect nighttime lane restrictions and possible delays during work hours.

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pavement joint sawing and sealing is scheduled to begin next week on eastbound Route 30 in Hellam Township, York County. This work is associated with a resurfacing project on Route 30 from just west of the Route 462 Exit for Hallam to the Wrights Ferry bridge spanning the Susquehanna River.

Weather permitting, this work will be conducted between the Route 462 Exit for Hallam and Bergs Lane on Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. There will be nighttime lane restrictions on eastbound Route 30.

The following week, a pavement milling operation will be performed in the westbound lanes between Bergs Lane and just west of the Hellam exit on Sunday, July 12, through Thursday, July 16, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. There will be nighttime lane restrictions on westbound Route 30.

Acomac Road widening under Route 30 will also be conducted Thursday night (July 16). Then during daylight operations, barrier will be set and new pavement markings placed on Acomac Road. Once completed, this will shift traffic for upcoming substructure work on the bridges carrying Route 30 over Acomac Road.

This resurfacing project consists of milling, asphalt resurfacing, base repair, concrete paving, concrete patching, drainage improvements, guiderail updates, line painting, sign updates, structure repairs and other miscellaneous construction on Route 30 (Arsenal Road) from just west of the Route 462 Exit for Hallam to the Wrights Ferry Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $15,475,000 project. All work on this contract is expected to be completed by December 21, 2027.
