Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today a PennDOT maintenance crew in Dauphin County is scheduled to perform pavement patching this coming weekend on southbound Interstate 83 in Dauphin County.
Weather permitting, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday, March 28, patching will be performed in the southbound lanes of I-83 on the John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Dauphin and Cumberland counties. There will be lane restrictions on southbound I-83.
On Sunday, March 29, this work will be performed during the same hours on the ramp that carries southbound I-83 to southbound Interstate 283 at the Eisenhower Interchange. The ramp will be closed, and a detour will be in place. To access southbound I-283, southbound I-83 travelers should take Exit 47 and head south on Eisenhower Boulevard to Lindle Road (Route 441), then turn left to access the ramp to southbound I-283.
There may be delays. Travelers should be alert and watch for changing traffic patterns.
