Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a high friction surface treatment is expected to be applied next weekend to a section of southbound Interstate 81 in Lebanon County. This work will be performed on an approximately 0.5-mile section of southbound I-81 in the area of Mile Marker 93, north of Exit 90 (Route 72/Lebanon).
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 5:00 AM Saturday, April 18, to approximately midnight on Sunday, April 19. There will be lane restrictions in place during this work. This work may carry over to the following Saturday (April 25)
Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This work is also expected to be performed at a later date on northbound and southbound I-81 around Mile Marker 85, which is several miles west of the I-81/I-78 split. An updated press release will issued when this work is scheduled.
