The bridge, which is owned by Norfolk Southern railroad, was closed following an inspection

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Clear Springs Road bridge spanning Norfolk Southern railroad tracks in Lebanon County is closed due to deterioration discovered during a recent inspection. The bridge, which is owned by the railroad, is located about one-third mile north of Route 422 in North Annville Township.

A detour is in place using Route 422 and Route 934.

The inspection, which was performed by a consultant engineering firm to meet state and federal requirements for bridge inspections, revealed deterioration to two retaining walls.

A schedule for replacement or repairs is unknown at this time.
