Safety Improvements Planned Next Week on Interstate 76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that safety improvements will occur next week on eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in Philadelphia under a project to improve safety at several intersections and freeway off-ramps in the five-county region. The goal is to reduce the number and severity of crashes at intersections that do not have traffic signals.  

Weather permitting, drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays may occur.

Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, PA, is the general contractor on this $5.4 million project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
