Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that SEPTA will be removing embedded trolley tracks on Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia, beginning Friday, November 14.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- From 7:00 AM Friday, November 14, through 5:00 PM Sunday, November 16, Germantown Avenue will be closed between Route 611 (Broad Street) and McFerran Street. During the closure, eastbound Germantown Avenue motorists will be directed to use Pike Street, 15th Street, and Butler Street. Westbound Germantown Avenue motorists will be directed to use Butler Street, Route 611 (Broad Street), and Pike Street.
Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
